The evaluation agency DXOMARK released the screen scores for the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models. The Samsung Galaxy S23 scored an impressive 148 points, ranking fourth in the DXOMARK global screen rankings, surpassing the standard version of the iPhone 14, which only managed to score 139 points. With its incredible screen performance, this places the Galaxy S23 in a superior position.
Although the Samsung Galaxy S23 has the smallest screen in the series, it scored the same as the flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra with its excellent screen performance. Moreover, the Galaxy S23 even scored better in the touch sub-category than the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S23+, primarily due to its smaller screen, which can manage corner touches better.
Despite its excellent performance, DXOMARK pointed out that the Galaxy S23 screen flickers less frequently, and the brightness is too high when reading at night, which might affect user experience.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 features a 6.1-inch AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2340*1080, an adaptive refresh rate of 48-120Hz, and a local peak brightness of up to 1750nits an outstanding device.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S23+ scored 146 points in the DXOMARK screen test, ranking sixth in the global screen rankings. While its brightness performance is commendable, it lags behind the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra regarding legibility. The color rendering of the screen also lacks detail in outdoor sunlight environments, and the device shows aliasing when gaming, which can affect the user experience.
