Igeekphone News, May 19th: According to GSMArena, Samsung plans to release its next-generation foldable screen product on July 22nd. There are two models included, namely Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.
Among them, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is Samsung’s first large-sized folding product. Its size and aspect ratio are similar to those of Huawei’s Pura X Max.
According to the information released, the internal screen of this device is 7.6 inches, with a 4:3 aspect ratio, providing a display effect similar to that of an iPad. Combined with a 5.4-inch external screen, it completely eliminates the narrow and elongated form of traditional foldable screens, significantly enhancing the experience for document reading and multitasking.

Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED, with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
The core configuration is on par with the flagship models. It is equipped with the 5th generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra Edition for Galaxy processor, offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space.
The rear camera features a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. It is equipped with a 4800mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging and 25W wireless fast charging.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is 9.8mm thick, and its thinnest part when unfolded is only 4.9mm. It will become the world’s lightest large-sized foldable phone, weighing approximately 200g.

The foldable iPhone that Apple is set to release in September will also adopt a similar aspect ratio. Coupled with the Huawei Pura X series, the three major manufacturers will engage in a fierce competition in the foldable device market.
