SjCam just announced its latest camera, SjCam SJ6 Legend with the ability of shooting 4K video. But if we want to speak honestly, only by reading the features, will see that is not some super fantastic news, sorry SJCam.
The SJ6 Legend camera uses the same old Novatek 96660 imaging processor that we can find at the previous model, SJ5000X. So nothing new from this side. What is new and impressive must say, is the 2″ live-view LCD with touch screen.
I know that the company says it can shoot 4K video, but as you can read at the characteristics, at 24fps is gonna be the shooting. Xiaomi Yi 4K, on the other hand, can shoot at 30fps, which shows that Xiaomi Yi camera is better in UHD videos.
In order to allow 16MP photo resolution, the SJCAM SJ6 Legend adopts the MN34120PA imaging sensor from Panasonic (just like the older SJ5000+).
Additionally to the large 2 inch live-view display on the front side of the camera there is a small status screen.
SjCam SJ6 Legend comes with a waterproof housing for shooting videos 30M under water, with 166 degree super wide angle FOV, built-in 2.0 inch back LTPS touch screen and 0.96 inch front screen. Supports max 128G storage. For battery it has a built-in 1000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, lasting for 110 minutes.
