ChinaJoy makes a grand offline comeback after two years. The 20th ChinaJoy event for 2023 kicked off in Shanghai today, drawing participation from numerous gaming companies, hardware manufacturers, and mobile phone makers. During the event, TCL Huaxing and Samsung made a joint debut of an advanced 8K high-end e-sports display with a 57-inch screen, boasting a remarkable 240Hz refresh rate and R1000 curvature.
In collaboration with TCL CSOT, Samsung Electronics officially unveiled the Dragon Knight Neo G9 (G95NC), a cutting-edge Mini Led product featuring a 57-inch DU 240Hz R1000 HVA curved gaming screen. Notably, the Neo G9 claims the title of the world’s first 8K gaming display. The device utilizes TCL Huaxing’s high-performance HVA panel, which supports an impressive 240Hz high refresh rate and a resolution of 7680*2160 (dual UHD). The screen’s curvature is only R1000, ensuring a fast 1ms response time and granting gamers an immersive and exceptional gaming experience.
Cao Dan, the IT SBU Product Division Director at TCL CSOT, highlighted the key features of their HVA technology in e-sports displays. The technology boasts “three highs and one fast,” comprising a high contrast ratio of 5000:1, R1000 (and even R800) high curvature, a 360Hz+ high refresh rate, and an ultra-fast 1ms response time. These attributes perfectly recreate game scenes, enhancing the gaming experience significantly.
TCL’s founder and chairman, Li Dongsheng, previously shared that in 2020, TCL acquired Samsung’s LCD liquid crystal display factory in Suzhou. Subsequently, in 2022, Samsung announced its complete withdrawal from the liquid crystal display business. Li Dongsheng mentioned that Samsung’s departure from this industry was primarily due to its inability to compete with TCL regarding comprehensive competitiveness and efficiency.
