iGEEKPHONE reported on February 21st that multiple supply chain and industry analysts have confirmed that Apple’s first foldable phone, iPhone Fold, will be officially launched in the autumn of 2026 and has already entered the production preparation stage.
The iPhone Fold adopts the same book-style folding design as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. When folded, it is approximately 9-9.5mm thick, and when unfolded, it is about 4.5-4.8mm. The frame of the device is made of titanium alloy, which effectively prevents bending. The hinge is crafted from titanium alloy and stainless steel, ensuring both durability and smooth folding.

In terms of the button layout, the volume buttons have been moved to the top right of the device, similar to the iPad mini. The power button and the camera control button remain on the right side. A camera module identical to that of the iPhone Air is equipped on the left upper part of the back. Currently, only two color options (black and white) are available for testing.
It is equipped with dual screens – an external screen of 5.5 inches and an internal screen of 7.8 inches. The size of the internal screen is similar to that of A6 paper, with resolutions of 2088×1422 for the external screen and 2713×1920 for the internal screen.

The screen is protected by ultra-thin glass and transparent polyimide film. The core breakthrough lies in achieving the industry’s first nearly seamless foldable screen – by using metal plates to distribute the bending stress of the screen, and embedding liquid metal material in the hinge, which completely solves the common problem of foldable screen creases at the hardware level.
To save internal space, Apple has removed Face ID and instead integrated Touch ID on the side buttons. The camera system is equipped with a quad-camera setup, including an external screen punch-hole front camera, an internal screen under-screen front camera, and two 48-megapixel rear main cameras. The external screen front camera is located in the top left corner of the screen.
Equipped with Apple’s second-generation self-developed C2 modem, it completely eliminates the need for Qualcomm and supports mmWave millimeter wave in the United States. It has no physical SIM card slot.
Equipped with the largest capacity battery in iPhone history, it uses high-density cells. At the same time, by simplifying core components such as display drivers, the energy efficiency is further enhanced, and the battery life has been significantly improved.
Given the significant increase in costs for components such as hinges, the body, and the screen, the iPhone Fold will become Apple’s first iPhone priced over $2,000. Multiple sources have revealed that the US version’s price is between $2,000 and $2,500, which is approximately 13,816 to 17,270 yuan.
