The Future Prospects of Dota 2

When it comes to video gaming, money has become an inevitable part of it. In the case of Dota 2, the money matter has turned into a huge thing. The Valve developers have filled the Dota 2 prize pool will millions of dollars. However, it seems to not protect Dota 2 from a slow yet steady decline. Does it mean that Dota 2 is dying? No, it doesn’t. But there are some negative tendencies that can’t be ignored. Before you register at dota2-bets.com, you should learn some more details about this concern.

    Dota 2 Reaching Its Peak

Most games reach the top at some point and then eventually fall into oblivion. Dota 2 can’t be viewed as such, although it has faced lots of ups and downs throughout the years. After reaching the top, it hasn’t lost all of its players. Thanks to the creativity of Valve developers, there were always some modifications and improvements involved. The all-time peak experienced by Dota 2 was in March, 2016 when the total number of followers reached more than one million. That number was highly caused by the winter updates and the Battle Pass for the next Shanghai Major.

Dota 2’s Most Attractive Player Count

Dota 2 started declining in 2013. The customer base included just 400,000. But the situation changed in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. Considering serious health measures integrated around the world, more and more people decided to refer to video gaming. While Dota 2 is one of the most popular options of its kind, more than 600,000 players proceeded with the gaming routine.

The Savior of Dota 2 – The International Battle Pass

The influence of COVID was drastic. But it’s pretty unclear how long it will take to get our life to normal. What will happen to Dota 2 then? Will players keep playing Dota 2? Or will they carry on with their life? Time will make things clear. The development of the TI Battle Pass shed a bit of light on the situation. Over the last decade, Valve has managed to earn more than $100 million directly from Battle Pass sales. So, we can assume that Dota 2 remains a golden goose for Valve. In the nearest future, Dota 2 seems to remain in trend. Due to the complexities of the modern world, we can’t predict what will be in a year or two.

Is There Any Chance that Dota 2 Can Die?

While checking the financial reasons, Valve did everything they could to keep Dota 2 alive. It’s absolutely fine for average players. On the professional scene, the things aren’t so bright. Valve hasn’t been very helpful with visa requirements for players, even lying to its players and eSports players at times.

Most professional teams can’t sustain themselves apart from the biggest ones in the world. In addition, the schedule of Dota 2 events is changing every year, which isn’t a good thing. In light of everything, 99% of the players can still enjoy the game, especially after the involvement of the Battle Pass. Now that question is how Valve developers will handle the professional scene. What actions will be taken? And how successful will they be?
