Top Smartphones wit Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Around $500, August 2023

    HabibBy HabibAugust 7, 2023
Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

The smartphone market is fiercely competitive within the 2000-3000 yuan ($450-550) range. Alongside the Dimensity 8200 series, prominent flagship chips like Snapdragon 8+ and Dimensity 9000 have made their debuts in rapid succession. The Top Smartphones are abundant, making it quite a task to select within this price bracket. Here’s a quote for your consideration:

    OPPO K11

First, in Top Smartphones, The OPPO K11 is a top choice for photography enthusiasts due to its 50-megapixel primary camera featuring the IMX890 sensor and flagship image processing algorithms.

However, in terms of performance, the OPPO K11 falls in the middle ground. It performs well for daily tasks with its Snapdragon 782 processor and handles smooth gameplay for most titles, though it might struggle with demanding games.

    Redmi K60

Equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ processor, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS3.1 storage, the Redmi K60 boasts a straightforward setup. Its 6.67-inch 2K direct screen and impressive camera configuration, featuring a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensor, contribute to its appeal.

The only notable drawback is its photography capabilities, but aside from that, the Redmi K60 offers a comprehensive package at a great value, especially with its high storage version.

    iQOO Neo 8

The iQOO Neo 8 presents a well-rounded package with its Snapdragon 8+ processor, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS3.1 storage. Its 6.78-inch 1.5K straight screen and robust camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor and 2MP auxiliary lens, add to its appeal.

With its comprehensive attributes and stable performance across the board, the iQOO Neo 8 shines as a mid-range contender.

    Realme GT Neo 5

The realme GT Neo5 combines the Snapdragon 8+ processor with an IMX890 sensor for its primary camera. It offers two battery versions: a 5000mAh+150W fast-charging combination and a 4600mAh+240W flash-charging variety. The rear camera module even incorporates a breathing light design, adding a touch of uniqueness.

Though its specs might appear watered down, the realme GT Neo5’s unique features, like the breathing light design, make it stand out despite some compromises in the configuration.

    OnePlus Ace 2

The OnePlus Ace2 distinguishes itself by utilizing a full-powered Snapdragon 8+ processor for heightened performance. Its 50-megapixel primary camera, featuring the Sony IMX890 sensor, further adds to its appeal.

The OnePlus Ace2 also boasts a curved 1.5K screen and exceptional craftsmanship, setting it apart from its peers. However, discounts have been scarce since its release.

    Honor 90

The Honor 90’s strengths and weaknesses are evident in its processor performance. The Snapdragon 7Gen1 processor’s subpar performance hampers the overall experience compared to the Snapdragon 778G.

Nonetheless, the Honor 90 excels in its screen and camera offerings. It shines in photography with a 1.5K curved screen supporting high-frequency PWM dimming and a front 50-megapixel selfie camera paired with a 200-megapixel primary rear camera. Its slim and stylish design also appeals to those less focused on performance.

    Xiaomi Civi 3

Last in Top Smartphones, Positioned similarly to the Honor 90, the Xiaomi Civi 3 caters to the female demographic while maintaining a balanced overall configuration. Powered by the Dimensity 8200Ultra, a robust performer in its class, it strikes a good balance between performance and power efficiency.

Featuring dual 32-megapixel front lenses and a 50-megapixel IMX800 sensor for its primary rear camera, the Xiaomi Civi 3 delivers impressive imaging quality.

    Xiaomi Mi 12S

The Mi 12S, powered by the Snapdragon 8+ processor, stands out as one of the first in its category. Collaborating with Leica for its flagship entry-level model, the compact 6.28-inch screen provides convenient one-handed use.

Despite its positive reception and compelling specs, particularly the 50-megapixel IMX707 primary camera with Leica enhancements, the Mi 12S has faced modest sales, leading to price reductions. Its affordability and feature-rich configuration still make it a noteworthy choice.

It’s important to note that many of these Top Smartphones share similar configurations. The key differences lie in reference prices and system optimizations. If feasible, trying out the devices in a physical store can provide a more accurate sense of their performance and usability.
