    The developers of tiktok, ByteDance, initially released a beta version of the actual app under the name banner of Douyin in 2016. This app was released exclusively for the Chinese market only and was incredibly well received by the mass audience. In fact, it witnessed a record of 100 million registered users just within a span of just one year. The app was released as tiktok for the global market exactly a year after its initial release in China, and it replicated the analogous result.

    Tiktok currently has about 500 million registered users on its platform, with an astounding estimation of over 1 billion downloads worldwide. It is available in 75 different languages and spread across 150 markets globally, as well.
