Igeekphone News, June 6th: According to media reports, two new MagSafe chargers from Apple have been certified. Their models are A3503 and A3502. They support the upgraded Qi 2.2 standard. The chargers feature a white disc design and are equipped with 2-meter and 1-meter braided cables respectively.
It is not difficult to see from the certification documents that Apple is turning to the next-generation wireless charging standard Qi 2.2, which is the new version of the Qi standard launched by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and is an improvement based on Qi 2.1.

This upgrade is of great significance, mainly in the faster charging speed. Technically, Qi 2.2 can support a charging output of up to 50W. In contrast, the Qi 2 standard only supports a maximum of 15W.
The test documents also show that this charger is compatible with all devices from iPhone 16 to iPhone 11 series, indicating that the Qi 2.2 charger has wide compatibility with existing devices, but its speed will be limited when charging with older models.
In addition to the faster charging speed, Qi 2.2 has also improved magnetic alignment and charging efficiency. This standard also has the feature of backward compatibility with older Qi chargers. Apple has not officially announced these new chargers yet, but their appearance indicates that we are likely to see new products on the market in the coming months.

This also means that the iPhone 17 series will support the new wireless charging standard, but it cannot be guaranteed that the 17 series will support 50W charging. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 17 series in September.
It is revealed that the iPhone 17 series will undergo a major product line adjustment. The underperforming Plus models will be discontinued, and a new ultra-thin Air series will be added. The four models are Air, Standard Edition, Pro and Pro Max, with a clearer positioning to meet the needs of different users.

This time, all four models of the iPhone 17 series will support a 120Hz refresh rate. Previously, this technology was only available on Pro series models. This is the first time that the iPhone 17 series has supported a high refresh rate on the standard version models.
