Once the new Xiaomi Mi TV Pro was presented, the firm began the announcement of the Mi 9 Pro 5G. A new high-end smartphone that in summary has been an improved Mi 9 incorporating new features such as its 5G connectivity or a new haptic vibration engine.
This new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G does not differ from the design of the current Xiaomi Mi 9. With a glass and metal finish, its lines continue to be one of the most attractive in the firm’s wide range of smartphones. In this case, we find a device of 157.5 × 74.67 × 7.61mm with a weight of 196 grams. Your available colors will be a black called Titanium Black and a lighter color called Dream White.
This new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G maintains a large AMOLED screen of 6.39 inches FHD + resolution (2340 × 1080 pixels). Its luminosity is still one of the best since in this case, we find a figure that amounts to 600cd /m2. In addition, under this, we find a new footprint reader of the latest generation.
Inside and as a great novelty, it has a Snapdragon 855+, a processor based on the same Snapdragon 855, but with higher frequencies, both in its cores and in its GPU. Along with this, 8 or 12GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512GB of internal storage are combined.
For its connection, this new Qualcomm processor has a 5G modem, capable of providing high-quality coverage thanks to the 7 antennas that this Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has located along with its chassis. In addition, for cooling, we find an updated cooling system with respect to the Mi 9 based on dissipation tubes (Heatpipes).
In the photographic section, we find the same 48, 16 and 12MP cameras present on the back of the Xiaomi Mi 9. In this case, as confirmed by the company itself, they integrate an improved approach system, as well as a more advanced hardware level. On its front, we find a 20MP selfie camera.
Another of the great novelties that we find in this new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is its battery. In this case, it amounts to 4000mAh incorporating a fast charge of 40W. Likewise, its wireless charging has grown in power to reach 30W, capable of charging 100% of the terminal in 69 minutes.
To make matters worse, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G’s battery has a reversible 10W charge, allowing us to charge other smartphones or devices compatible with wireless charging. In this way, we can share our battery percentage if necessary by simply supporting another device on the back of the Mi 9 Pro 5G.
Another of its great differences with the Xiaomi Mi 9 is found in its renewed vibration motor. A haptic system capable of generating up to 150 different types of vibration, providing a 4D experience when using the system interface or in video game execution. On the other hand, the sound has also been improved, counting in this case with a large sound cavity capable of generating a high sound volume.
Xiaomi specifically highlighted the Mi 9 Pro 5G’s abnormal L-shaped steam chamber cooling system, which lowers the processor core temperature by up to 10.2 degrees. Similarly, a new vibration engine is new in the interior. Of rest, the new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi AC, USB Type C, Game Turbo 2.0, infrared IR port and dual-frequency GPS.
Prices for the Mi 9 Pro 5G, which will go on sale in China on September 27, start at 3699 yuan, or more than $470 (8 + 128GB). Other versions are priced at 3799 yuan or just under $490 (8 + 256GB), 4099 yuan or about $525 (12 + 256GB), and 4299 yuan or about $550 (12 + 512GB). For the time being, there is no information on international availability outside China.
