According to 36kr, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, BYD’s power battery business, Fodi Battery, is actively exploring the market for new cars, including Nextev and Xiaomi Cars, with Nextev already adopting BYD’s lithium iron phosphate batteries before the Spring Festival.

The Management Committee of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone signed a cooperation agreement with Xiaomi in November last year, officially announcing the arrival of Xiaomi cars in Beijing Economic development Zone.
It is reported that Xiaomi Automobile will build a vehicle factory in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone in two phases, with the cumulative annual output of the factory expected to be 300,000 units, and the production capacity of the first and second phases will be 150,000 units. In 2024, the first car of Xiaomi automobile will roll off the production line in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone and achieve mass production.
Lei jun said on October 19 that Xiaomi automobile registered in Beijing on September 1, the first factory will be located in Beijing, has received 20,000 resumes, 453 people to work in the research and development team.
