With its new premium sub-brand POCO, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi seeks to disrupt the global smartphone market by redefining the premium segment. It’s the ultimate flagship phone and the Xiaomi Poco F1 is here to take on the OnePlus 6, Huawei Honor 10 and its rivals. Inside a thin aluminum frame the Snapdragon 845 high-end SoC powers the affordable cell phone, paired with 6GB of RAM and an Adreno 630 GPU. To avoid overheating it comes with LiquidCool water cooling technology and 4G connectivity including band 20 with 800MHz.
The Pocophone F1 comes with a bezel-less screen and a notch. The display is a 6.18-inch IPS LCD display featuring a resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels (18.7:9) as well as Sunlight display, Night display, Reading mode, and Color temperature adjustment. The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB expandable storage.
The Poco F1 has a dual camera setup camera at the back, consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.9, 1.4μm) and a 5-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.0, 1.12μm), along with a dual-LED flash and dual pixel autofocus. At the front is a 20-megapixel AI sensor for selfies positioned within the notch. Thanks to artificial intelligence the cameras can detect 25 categories of objects and up to 206 different scenes. The notch also accommodates an infrared camera and an IR illuminator for face unlock. Videos can be recorded with 4K and 30 fps.
The Poco F1 packs a 4000mAh battery and comes with a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3 certified charger in the box. It has a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The F1 allows both SIM cards to be on 4G networks and supports Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, WiFi 2×2 MIMO technology, and WiFi Display. For navigation and positioning, you can rely on GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, Beidou, as well as a gyroscope and an electronic compass. Xiaomi ships the Poco F1 with MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
