Today Xiaomi has officially released the two budget affordable smartphones, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Let’s enjoy their difference and similarity together.
In design, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus keeps forehead and chin, on their back, they adopt all metal body, available for golden, rose golden, blue, and black four colors. In screen, they both adopt 18:9 full view display, but Redmi 5 Plus has 5.99 inch screen, and Redmi 5 comes with 5.7 inch. Redmi 5/ 5 Plus has the rounded-corner, slim and sleek for a comfortable hand feel.
As for its hardware, Redmi 5 is powered by Snapdragon 450 while Redmi 5 Plus features Snapdragon 625, but they are both Octa core processorr smartphone with 14nm FinFET technology. They supports 1.25 um big pixel, coming with soft-toned selfie-light for perfect selfie taking at low light condition. The camera can support Beautify 3.0 which can improve natural beauty.They both will run MIUI 9 OS, which can support faster mode to play games, but Redmi 5 Plus has larger battery capacity, 4,000mAh which can support up to 17 days for standby, while Redmi 5 is built in 3,300mAh battery to support about 2-day usage, and up to 12 hours on standby.

About Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, Xiaomi official announces they will sell at least 799 yuan, $133, to be exact, Redmi 5 2GB+16GB version sells at 799 yuan, $133, Redmi 5 3GB 32GB version at 899 yuan, $150, Redmi 5 Plus 3GB+32GB version at 999 yuan, $166, and Redmi 5 Plus 4GB+64GB at 1,299 yuan, $200, they will start to sell officially online and offline on December 12.
