The Guangdong Terminal Fast Charging Industry Association is led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Xiaomi, and domestic mobile phone manufacturers, and is jointly established by all parties in the terminal fast charging industry chain such as the terminal machine, charging chip, instrumentation, charger, and accessories in the United Nations.
As the first electronic consumer terminal fast charging industry association in the country, the Guangdong Terminal Fast Charging Industry Association will coordinate and integrate industrial resources to promote the standardization, industrial application, and promotion of charging technology. According to relevant analysis, the establishment of the association will accelerate the implementation of standards and ecological construction of integrated fast charging technology, and the incompatible fast charging protocols between the different terminal and charger manufacturers will be expected to be unified.
The Xiaomi mobile phone department stated that Xiaomi will continue to conduct in-depth research from the three dimensions of charging architecture, charging performance and charging experience, provide better technical solutions, in-depth solutions to user charging pain points, and promote the active development of the charging industry. At the same time, Xiaomi has started the pre-research and test certification of the integrated fast charging technology and has taken the lead in completing the development of the mobile phone and charger test prototype that supports the 33-watt integrated fast charging. The large-scale implementation of fast charging lays the foundation.
The rapid development of fast charging technology, the incompatibility of the proprietary fast-charging technologies of various manufacturers has also brought about several problems. Consumers need to purchase the corresponding chargers and accessories according to the terminal model. Here comes the waste of resources and environmental pollution. In order to provide users with a consistent and safe fast charging experience, on May 28, 2021, the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association officially released the integrated fast-charging standard “Mobile Terminal Converged Fast Charging Technical Specifications”, and Xiaomi is also one of the main drafters of the standard.
