There have long been rumors that Xiaomi is preparing to release a new camera phone that will offer users a 12x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom. Now the resource Letsgodigital, using published Xiaomi’s patent images, which really surprises with its design. Patent images were published only today in the database of the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration.
The entire front panel of the device is occupied by a huge display that bends to the back panel. There are no buttons on the sides of the device, as there are no holes and cutouts for the front camera, but in this case, it is not necessary and that’s why.
The fact is that on the back there is another fairly large screen, which is located directly below the camera. The camera is of particular interest because it includes a single module. Today, when even budget smartphones get 3-4 modules in the main camera, it seems rather strange.
However, those who understand photography understand that in most cases, this number of modules does not mean that users will be able to get great pictures in a variety of scenarios. In most cases, this is just a marketing move that can impress not very experienced users.
The transparent design also gives away details like AI Super Camera, 108MP Mega sensor zoom lens, MIUI, and having 5G IVY650 modem inside. On the upper part of the case, there is an on / off button for the smartphone and a microphone. Below is a place for the speaker and USB-C connector. As for the second screen, it can be used as a viewfinder when creating a selfie.
This Xiaomi’s Patent also states that the manufacturer is considering the release of another version of this smartphone, which will receive a glass back panel in the camera area. Xiaomi has been producing similar smartphones since the days of Xiaomi Mi 8.
