After long-standing speculations, HMD has finally officially introduced the Nokia X6 in China. As expected, it is the first Nokia with a “Notch” at the top of the screen, modeled on the iPhone X and the entire Android diva screen after it.
In a way, the Nokia X6 was more like the LG G7 ThinQ than other handsets. That’s because it has both the infamous notch and the chin, that empty space below the screen. Speaking of it, it’s a 5.8-inch Full HD + panel and 19: 9 aspect ratio, that is, growing up instead of sideways.
The rectangular slot born with the iPhone X keeps the camera, the speaker, and the usual sensors. There is nothing at the bottom, just the name of the company, putting in check the dubious visual choice of HMD Global.
Continuing the trend of the category, dual cameras – 16MP (RGB) and 5MP (mono), aligned vertically – detail the back panel, which also include the LED for the flash and the fingerprint reader. To close, the Nokia X6 ships the USB Type-C and standard headphone jack, solidified by a construction made of glass and metal.
In the wave of artificial intelligence, Nokia promises breathtaking selfies with the 16 MP front camera of the X6: the feature recognizes scenarios and applies interesting effects, such as the much-desired background blur, bokeh.
In this same fingerprint, the front camera also solves the “problem” of the fingerprint reader’s position. – Many prefer biometrics in the front. Simply register your face and enable face recognition, unlocking the phone with just a look. Already speaking about carriers, the Nokia X6 is Dual-SIM hybrid (nano + nano / microSD), compatible with VoLTE – the voice connection through the LTE – dual.
With the mission of bringing these features to life, the 3,060 mAh battery supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, ensuring a 50% charge in just 30 minutes. There is also support for VoLTE and the operating system Android 8.1.0.
Regarding prices and availability, in China the Nokia X6 is offered in three colors White, Black, Blue at a price of 1299 yuan ($203)for the 4GB RAM and 32GB storage, for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage price is 1449 yuan ($227) and 1699 yuan ($266) for the 6GB model of RAM and 64GB of storage and its Sales start on May 21.
