Google released the next version of Android P Beta, focused mainly on third-party software developers. The new edition fixes bugs and errors of previous versions, optimized the work of some services, implemented a security patch for July 2018. According to Google, Android P Beta 3 is very close to what we’ll see in the final release of the new firmware, the debut of which will take place “later in the summer,” which only confirms the information received from Nokia about the release of Android 9.0 in August.
Among the new features introduced by Beta 3
- New ‘back’ button in the navigation bar
- New rotation lock button
- Tweaks to the Quick Settings panel
- Manual dark theme
- ‘App Actions’ now work on the first generation Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL
- Recent apps are now bigger when sliding through them
- Status bar icons are now smaller
- Call volume is now separate in the settings
- New icon for keyboard switcher
- New icon for Battery Saver when activated
- New icons in the Settings
- Always On Display now hides notifications too
- New “Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload” option in Developer Options
- New animation when opening presents
- New animation when switching to the last app
Android P beta 3 began to be released this Monday for Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and the Android Emulator, but the company says that in the coming weeks this version will also reach the cell phones of associated companies that are participating in the beta program of Android P, such as the OnePlus 6, the Sony Xperia XZ2 and the Oppo R15 Pro .
The schedule set on the official website provides for on the way to the final version two more Beta publications that will stretch for July and, obviously, the first half of August. Beta 3 can already download sections of the program on their smartphone series Pixel. Updates for smartphones from third-party Android P Beta programs are expected in the next few weeks. In the meantime, we suggest that you familiarize yourself (remember) with what will bring new millions of smartphones to Android P.
It is expected that in the coming months, surely near or with the release of the Pixel 3, Google will release the official update so that then other manufacturers also release the update for their devices.
