As planned, Today HMD Global presents the new Nokia X5. It is a new member of the X series that arrives with crystal design, a notch on the screen, MediaTek processor and pure Android. At 15:05 on July 18, the Nokia X5 will open a formal appointment and officially goes on sale at 10:05 on July 19. Let’s check out its all characteristics.
The Nokia X5 comes with a 5.86-inch screen with HD + resolution in a 19: 9 format. As results, we have 1520 x 720 pixels. The handset measures 149.51 x 71.98 x 8.096mm, the design is made of glass, with the screen protected with Gorilla Glass and a theoretical screen ratio of 84%. The fingerprint reader is located in the back, just below the dual camera placed in a vertical position. On the front is the inclusion of Nokia in the bottom, a classic within the manufacturer and the ‘notch’ above.
Inside the device, we have a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, a 12nm chipset with 4 Cortex A73 cores at 2GHz and 4 Cortex A53 cores. For the GPU is equipped with a Mali-G72MP3. It is a new processor with artificial intelligence capabilities for the mid-range. They will accompany versions with 3 or 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of storage expandable by microSD.
The presence of NFC has not materialized, although Nokia mobile phones that are sold internationally do tend to bring it. The handset includes a 3060mAh battery. The other features of the phone include USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, dual-SIM support, Cat.4 LTE modem, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS.
Android 8.1 Oreo without customization layer is what we have in this Nokia X5. They also ensure that it will be a device to receive Android P early. For the camera section, we have a double rear camera of 13MP plus a secondary one of 5MP. The lens has an aperture f / 2.0 and we have flash-LED and autofocus. For the front, we have an 8MP camera, aperture f / 2.2, beauty mode and portrait mode thanks to artificial intelligence.
The Nokia X5 is available in Nigh Black, Baltic Sea Blue and Glacier White color at a price of 999 Yuan, about $149 to change. The version with 4GB and 64GB goes up to 1399 Yuan, about $208. We understand that the global version may be slightly more expensive to change, but it is still a fairly competitive price for the type of terminal that is offered to us.
