Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Officially Launched, 48MP Camera, Snapdragon 660 Priced at $150

Today, January 10 is an important day for Xiaomi. The Chinese company officially released the Redmi brand, which from now on will be responsible for smartphones and other equipment. Of course, Xiaomi does not completely cut off this project and is to help Redmi financially and technologically – just as POCO helps. The first smartphone of the new, although known to us for many years, the brand is Redmi Note 7 – a great mid-range smartphone, whose price has been set at a surprisingly low level.

The smartphone has become the second model of the company with a drop-shaped cut-out of the screen, the first, we recall, was Xiaomi Play. The device has an IPS LTPS matrix with a diagonal of 6.3 with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and its protection is provided by the tempered Gorilla Glass 5 glass.

The display is characterized by the brightness of 450 cd / m2, a contrast ratio of 1500: 1 and a good color coverage (84% of NTSC color space ). The thickness of the side frames of the screen is only 1.95 mm – like the iPhone X noted Lei Jun. It was he who announced the device.

Even before the announcement, Redmi Note 7 appeared in the Geekbench benchmark with the SoC Snapdragon 660. Well, the presentation confirmed that this model actually uses the single-chip Snapdragon 660 platform. According to the creators, the AnTuTu smartphone gets almost 146000 points – more than it can imagine a smartphone on the Kirin 710 platform.

Now a few words about the camera. Redmi Note 7 turned out to be the same Xiaomi model with a 48MP camera, about which so much has been said lately. In particular, the sensor used here is a Samsung GM1 1/2 in. Format with 1.8-micron pixels. Lens aperture – F / 1.8. The auxiliary sensor used to analyze the depth of the scene is characterized by a resolution of 5MP.

The images below demonstrate how well the Redmi Note 7 camera comes with its capabilities in comparison with its competitors.

The resolution of the image sensor front camera smartphone – 13MP. Redmi Note 7 received a 4000mAh battery and supports fast charging from an 18W power supply. Also in the configuration of the smartphone IR emitter to control home appliances, USB-C port, and a standard headphone jack.

Dimensions of the model – 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.1 mm. As it was possible to assume from a series of videos in which the smartphone was tested for strength, Redmi Note 7 not only received a reinforced screen and case but also protected from dust and moisture. True, the degree of IP is not given.

Sales will start on January 15, but prices have already been announced. The cost of the basic configuration of a smartphone, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory, is only $150 equivalent. Version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory is estimated at $175, well, the cost of the most expensive version of Redmi Note 7, equipped with 6GB of RAM and the same 64GB of flash memory – about $205. Redmi Note 7 has 3 color versions: the usual black and two gradient ones – blue and red.
