Brand Nubia today in China announced its readiness to start selling Nubia Alpha, a hybrid of a smartphone and a smartwatch. The devices have already been shipped to stores and will be displayed on shelves or sent to customers on 10 April.
Nubia Alpha bracelet has a long curved screen that almost completely surrounds the arm. The device uses a 4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 960 × 192 pixels and a 36: 9 aspect ratio, which displays information about the time, date, user’s physical activity, as well as notifications from the smartphone. Nubia Alpha can be used as a phone – to make calls, as well as receive and send messages.
Nubia Alpha is based on the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip, which was created specifically for wearable devices and is commonly used in smartwatches and fitness bracelets. The gadget is equipped with a 5MP camera with an aperture of f / 2.2 and with an 82-degree wide-angle sensor, 1GB of RAM, an 8GB drive and a 500mAh battery designed for 1-2 days of work.
Nubia Alpha is the first smartphone in the world that can work as a smartwatch (or a smartwatch that can work as a smartphone). This gadget can be worn on the arm, and if desired – removed from the wrist, straighten the screen and use the capabilities of a smartphone.
The operating system uses AlphaOS based on Android and with gesture support for managing applications, including without touching the screen. Fitness tracker features include heart rate measurement and a sleep rhythm track.

Initially, Nubia Alpha will be sold only in China, but then the company plans to begin shipping to Asia, Europe, and the USA. The eSIM bracelet will remain exclusive to the Chinese market, while in other countries only the Bluetooth option will be available.
