The latest news report that Huawei Mate 20 X 5G edition passes through 3C certification with a model number EVR-AN00. It is the first 3C certified 5G Smartphone of Huawei. It is expected Mate 20 X (5G) will have new colors. The Huawei Mate 20 X Standard Edition is offered in only two sapphire blue and phantom silver colors.
In comparison, as the name suggests, the Mate 20 X (5G) is almost exactly the same as the Mate 20 X – just with a “5G” logo on the back. Huawei’s own Kirin 980 chipset is still at the helm, this time paired with the company’s Balong 5000 modem, the world’s first 7nm 5G multi-mode chip. Its 5G Edition is very similar to its 4G edition, with the only major difference being the battery capacity.
The new model features a 4200mAh battery as opposed to the 4G model’s 5000mAh battery. But the charging tech gets upgraded to 40W (instead of 22.5W on the 4G model!). The battery size reduction is probably due to space constraints caused by the addition of the Balong 5000 5G modem inside.
Everything else, spec-wise, stays the same – the 5G model gets the original’s triple rear camera setup, with a 40MP main f/1.8 shooter, 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide cam, and 8MP f/2.4 5x optical zoom telephoto lens. It’s also got the same 7.2″ touchscreen, and it runs Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 on top.
The Mate 20 X 5G edition also takes aim at the Galaxy Note 9 with support for pen input; the device will be offered alongside Huawei’s ‘M Pen’ stylus, that offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
