Samsung is already preparing Galaxy S11 top models, and more and more informal information is coming to the surface. The latter revolves around the camera and batteries. Galaxy S11 series will be equipped with a new photo set for which the South Koreans use the name “Hubble”. They refer to the Hubble Space Telescope because the cameras offer up to 5x optical zoom. Samsung will get to Huawei, which got a 5x zoom into this year’s P30 Pro.
The Galaxy S11’s main sensor should offer a resolution of 108MP, which would be no big surprise. Samsung manufactures the photo chip itself, and so far only sells it to competitors such as Xiaomi or Realme. In conjunction with optics, the 108MP sensor could offer enough image data for hybrid zoom, with a maximum of 15-75x magnification.
At the moment, however, these are mere speculations. The same is true of Samsung’s response to the Deep Fusion for iPhone 11 South Koreans reportedly preparing a similar solution, which debuts just outside the Galaxy S11. In addition to the zoom lens and the main 108MP sensor, the Galaxy S11 will probably have a separate ToF sensor for deep data acquisition as well as an ultra-wide-angle sensor of unknown resolution.
More information revolves around the batteries, specifically for the basic model Galaxy S11e. It should be equipped with a battery EB-BG980ABY, which will have a 3.85V minimum capacity of 3730mAh. Typical capacities could be between 3800 – 3900mAh. Compared to the Galaxy S10e with a 3100mAh battery, this would mean a significant increase in capacity.
According to current speculation, the Galaxy S11 series will take place on February 18, 2020, five days before the start of the MWC in Barcelona. The new smartphone line should be available for sale on March 6, 2020.
