The Chinese company OnePlus published a teaser, which announced its plans to convene a journalistic fraternity at its next press event. It will be held on January 13 in Shenzhen and is called the “OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology Communication Meeting.”
The company itself does not disclose details of what it intends to show. But judging by the name of the event, we will talk about some kind of technology regarding the display and it may well be implemented in future smartphones of the company.
There is an assumption that everything will turn out to be a bit more prosaic – a matrix with a refresh rate of 120 Hz will be announced, which will be equipped with models of the OnePlus 8 family.
Recall that OnePlus became a participant in the CES 2020 exhibition, where it showed the OnePlus Concept One smartphone. This is just a concept and a training ground for demonstrating how to make the main camera modules invisible.
Magic comes from electrochromic glass that covers the camera and can become darkened or transparent. Similar technology has already found its application in aircraft construction and sports cars.
At the moment, the company does not plan to launch such a smartphone on the market. But it is promised that the technology itself will continue to be developed and improved. Therefore, it is possible that in some of its future flagships, OnePlus will still offer an “invisible” camera.
