On September 30, Google will present its new flagships: the Pixel 5 and, next to it, a 5G model of the Pixel 4a that it presented a few weeks ago. During the past few days, a lot has been said about the next generation of Google’s premium smartphones but very little about the Pixel 4a 5G. Well, today the Google Pixel 4a 5G sees its characteristics filtered.
As with the leaked Google Pixel 5 renders and specs, the detailed new information on the Pixel 4a 5G comes from the WinFuture site run by reputed leaker Roland Quandt. We do not see images of the design of the Pixel 4a 5G – although it would not be very different from the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a itself – but its detailed specs.
On the front of the Google Pixel 4a 5G we would see a 6.2-inch OLED screen with Full HD + image resolution with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, that is, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (413ppi) in the landscape position. It’s the same image resolution as the standard Pixel 4a, only the screen is bigger this time. In addition, if the Pixel 5 screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass 6, then in this case you need to rely on Gorilla Glass 3 in addition to the plastic body (against the metal in the “five”).
One of the key features of the Pixel series is the camera. For the Pixel 4a 5G, we find a Sony IMX355 sensor with a 12.2MP CMOS resolution, f / 1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and a 77-degree angle of view. Also included is a 16MP ultra-wide angle with f / 2.2 aperture and a 107-degree angle of view.
The main camera can record 4K video at 30 or 60 frames per second or Full HD (1080p) up to 240 frames per second. The 8MP front camera pokes out through a hole in the screen. It has an f / 2.0 aperture and an 83-degree angle of view to capture selfies or record Full HD videos.
One difference from the Pixel 4a is that the 5G version has a more powerful 3885mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging via a USB-C adapter. The remaining options include the polycarbonate back and a 3.5mm headphone jack, an endangered feature in the mobile arena.
It will also be equipped with a Titan M security chip and a large number of sensors, such as distance sensors, ambient light sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, barometers, etc. The size of the whole device is 153.9 x 74.0 x 8.2mm and the weight is 168 grams.
Well, the price will differ by about 150 euros: 485/499 euros for the Pixel 4a 5G versus 630 euros for the Pixel 5. Google will reveal all the details of the duo on September 30.
