Huawei Mate 40
The dual-sim Huawei Mate 40 runs on EMUI 11.0 based on Android 10. The phone has a 6.5-inch full-HD + (1,080 × 2,376 pixels) OLED display, with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The phone works on the Kirin 9000E processor instead of the Kirin 9000 and it comes with 8GB RAM.
The Mate 40 comes with a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP wide-angle primary sensor with f / 1.9 lens, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f / 2.2 lens, and an 8MP f /2.4 telephoto lens. The front includes a 13MP sensor with an F / 2.4 wide-angle lens.
According to the launch event Livestream, the Huawei Mate 40 includes 128GB of onboard storage, however, the website featured 256GB of storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G FDD LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. The phone comes equipped with a 4200mAh battery, which supports 40W fast charging.
The Huawei Mate 40 includes a gesture sensor, gravity sensor, IR sensor, in-display fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, laser sensor, and color temperature sensor. The dimensions of the phone are 158.6 × 72.5 × 8.8 mm and weigh 188 grams. The Vegan leather option of Huawei Mate 40 comes with 9.2 mm thickness and weighs 184 grams.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro
The dual-SIM Huawei Mate 40 Pro features a 6.76-inch full-HD + (1,344 × 2,772 pixels) OLED display, which offers a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, just like the standard model. However, it works on the Kirin 9000 processor and comes equipped with 8GB RAM.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro offers a slightly different triple rear camera setup compared to the Mate 40 for photos and videos. Instead of a 16MP secondary sensor, the Pro variant gets a 20MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f / 1.8 lens. The third camera is a 12MP sensor with an F / 3.4 telephoto lens. The Pro model gets the same 13MP camera sensor as the standard model, as well as a 3D depth-sensing camera.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro offers 256GB of storage and connectivity is the same as the Mate 40, however, it does not include the 3.5mm headphone jack. It gets a 4400mAh battery with 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.
The sensor offers an additional 3D face recognition sensor and a barometer pressure sensor compared to the standard model. The dimensions of the phone are 162.9 × 75.5 × 9.1 mm and weigh 212 grams. The vegan leather option is 9.5mm thick and weighs the same as the glass back variant.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro+
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro + is very similar to the Mate 40 Pro with some major differences. The Mate 40 Pro + offers 12GB RAM and a quad rear camera setup. Along with the three camera sensors on the Mate 40 Pro, here you get an 8MP superzoom camera with 10x optical zoom and f / 4.4 aperture. Huawei Mate 40 Pro + also has a 3D deep sensing camera on the back. The dimensions of the phone are 162.9 × 75.5 × 8.8 mm and weigh 230 grams.
Mate 40 RS Porsche Design Edition
Huawei also unveiled a Mate 40 RS Porsche Design Edition, which has an additional infrared temperature measurement function.
