Today evening, Vivo officially launched the new “lightweight selfie flagship” Vivo S9. The phone, Vivo’s thinnest 5G phone, is priced at 2,999 yuan (8GB+128GB) and 3,299 yuan (12GB+256GB) and will go on sale in full on March 12.
According to the introduction, VIVO S9 broke the record of the thinest 5G phone by VIVO, not only the thickness of 7.35mm, but also the sense of “thin and light”, the body of the straight edge of the frame design, the frame is made of mirror aviation aluminum (yield strength is greater than 400MPa), visual and tactile give you thin experience.
Vivo S9 uses Samsung’s 6.44-inch 90Hz AMOLED water light screen with a new color scheme such as “Impression Light”, “Midnight Blue” and “Morning Dew White”.
The S9 features a front-facing dual camera (S5KGH1, 1/2.65″, 0.7μm, F2.0) and an 8-megapixel, 105° ultra-wide-angle portrait lens (HI846, 1/4″, F2.28) with accurate AF autofocus. The rear lens is 64MP main (S5KGW3, 1/1.97″, 0.7μm, F1.79, OIS) +8MP ultra-wide Angle (OV8856, 1/4″, F2.2) +2MP black and white (OV02B10, 1/5″, F2.4).
In addition, Vivo S9 also supports AI extreme night mode and 3D five-fold super texture beauty, sports capture, black light night vision and other functions. In terms of configuration, Vivo S9 debuts MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chip (with POP package and independent UFS), uses the new 128-layer Samsung UFS 3.1 flash memory, adopts the fingerprint scheme under the top screen, supports Wi-Fi 6, but does not support double 5G standby.
According to Antutu, the Vivo S9 AnTutu has a running score of up to 600,000 points, which is 85% higher than the previous generation. The Dimensity 1100 chip adopts TSMC’s advanced 6nm EUV process, and its logic density is 18% higher than that of the previous generation, including four A78 cores with a main frequency of up to 2.6GHz, and up to 9 cores of ARM G77 architecture GPU. The total CPU score is 52% higher than that of the previous generation, and the total GPU score is 140% higher.
In other news, Vivo S9 is running a new OriginOS based on Android 11. It has passed the 36-month aging model standard certification of Theil Laboratory. Equipped with ultra-thin VC soaking plate, the thickness is reduced by 12.5%, and the heat dissipation area of the whole machine is increased by 136%.
