Garmin has just released a sequel to its original Venu smartwatch, and has brought a host of new features to Venu 2. In addition to supporting GPS navigation, heart rate monitoring, barometric altimeter, electronic compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, thermometer, ambient light sensor, and pulse oxygen saturation monitor, the colorful touch-screen smartwatch also connects to Android/iOS devices and has a nominal battery life of up to 10 days.
Consumers can choose from two sizes and a variety of colors, supplemented by extended battery life, support for fast charging and power saving modes. The Venu 2 has a normal battery life of 11 days and the Venu 2S 10 days (both in smartwatch mode).
For consumers who prefer to wear it while working out, the Venu 2 series also offers a HIIT workout experience with on-screen animation. Of course, you can also enjoy hiking, bouldering, indoor rock climbing and more.
On the software side, Venu 2 is able to share its recorded Health statistics with Health Snapshot. Users can refer to the “fitness age” system (activity, resting heart rate, body fat percentage or BMI, etc.) to choose the right program for them.

In terms of size, the Venu 2 has a 45mm case and a 22mm strap, while the Venu 2S has a 40mm case and an 18mm strap. In addition to the stainless steel bezel that is widely used in the industry, the strap is made of quick-release silica gel.
Venu 2 features an AMOLED touch screen and Corning Gorilla 3 glass with a 1.3-inch, 416×416 resolution. The Venu 2S has a 1.1-inch @360 ×360 resolution, but both are water resistant at 5ATM.

The Venu 2 / Venu 2S can easily handle a 50-meter dive, daily splashes, showers, swimming, or rain or snow attacks. Finally, both devices will go on sale this week for around $400.
