iScooter K4 Kids Electric Scooter Review: A Compact 150W Scooter With Adjustable Speed

Buying an electric scooter for a child is less about chasing the biggest motor or longest range and more about finding the right balance between speed, size, control, and everyday usability.

The iScooter K4 Electric Scooter takes a deliberately modest approach. It uses a 150W brushless motor, a 21.6V 2.6Ah battery, 6-inch tires, and a maximum speed of 16 km/h. More importantly, it gives parents some control over how quickly the scooter can be ridden through three selectable speed modes: 5, 10, and 16 km/h.

That makes the K4 more interesting than its basic specifications might initially suggest. Instead of being designed around maximum performance, it focuses on a compact format, adjustable fit, simple controls, and features that make the scooter more approachable for younger riders.

    What Is the iScooter K4?

The K4 is a compact electric scooter aimed at younger riders who are beginning to explore personal electric mobility. The manufacturer listing specifies a rider-height range of approximately 1.2 to 1.6 meters, while the maximum supported load is 70 kg. The scooter itself weighs 6.5 kg, making it considerably easier to handle and move around than a typical full-size electric scooter.

Its dimensions also reflect that smaller footprint. When unfolded, it measures 80 × 36 × 96 cm, while the folded dimensions are listed as 75.5 × 12 × 29 cm.

For families, that combination matters. A child’s scooter shouldn’t only be easy to ride; it should also be reasonably manageable when the scooter needs to be carried, stored, or transported.

A 150W Motor Is About Control, Not Speed

    The K4 uses a 150W brushless motor.

On paper, that number isn’t impressive compared with adult electric scooters. That’s not really the point here.

A children’s scooter does not need the power required to accelerate a full-size adult rider to high speeds, which is why choosing the right electric scooter for a young rider is more important than simply comparing motor wattage.

The three speed settings are arguably more useful than the headline motor rating.

The K4 allows the rider to select:

    • 5 km/h for a slower learning pace
    • 10 km/h for moderate riding
    • 16 km/h for the scooter’s maximum setting

This gives parents a practical way to introduce the scooter gradually instead of immediately putting a new rider on its fastest setting.

For a child who has never used an electric scooter before, starting slowly makes considerably more sense than treating the 16 km/h figure as the default riding speed.

Adjustable Handlebars Give the K4 More Growing Room

One of the more useful design decisions is the three-level adjustable handlebar.

Children grow quickly, so a fixed-height scooter can have a relatively short useful lifespan. The K4’s adjustable handlebar is intended to accommodate riders as they get taller. The listed rider-height range is 1.2–1.6 meters.

This doesn’t mean the scooter will be equally comfortable for every rider within that range. Handlebar position, riding posture, and individual proportions still matter.

However, the ability to change the handlebar height gives the K4 an advantage over a completely fixed children’s scooter.

For parents, that is an important consideration because buying a scooter that can adapt to a growing rider may provide better long-term value.

6-Inch Tires Keep the Scooter Compact

The K4 rides on 6-inch tires.

Smaller wheels help keep the scooter compact and can contribute to its relatively lightweight design. The trade-off is that small scooter wheels are generally less forgiving than large wheels when encountering cracks, gravel, uneven pavement, or other surface imperfections.

That means the K4 is better suited to smooth, predictable riding surfaces.

A paved driveway, suitable private path, or smooth recreational area is a much better environment than rough trails or heavily damaged pavement.

This is an important distinction when evaluating a children’s scooter: the right scooter depends not only on the rider but also on where it will actually be used.

The 7–9 km Range Is Enough for Short Sessions

The K4 is listed with a 7–9 km range and a 5–6 hour charging time.

That range should be interpreted as a short-session figure rather than a transportation specification.

For children’s recreational riding, that can be perfectly reasonable. A typical outing may involve relatively short periods of riding rather than continuous travel over many kilometers.

Actual range will naturally vary depending on rider weight, speed setting, riding surface, temperature, and riding style, so understanding how electric scooter range is calculated can help buyers set realistic expectations.

The relatively long charging time also means the K4 is best treated as a scooter that gets charged after use rather than one that can quickly be topped up between multiple rides.

Three Speed Modes Are One of Its Most Useful Features

The K4’s three-speed system deserves more attention than the RGB lighting or Bluetooth connectivity.

    Why?

Because speed control directly affects how easy the scooter is to learn.

A first-time rider can start at 5 km/h and concentrate on basic balance, steering, braking, and throttle control. Once those skills become familiar, moving to 10 km/h provides a noticeable step up without immediately going to the maximum 16 km/h setting.

Experienced young riders can then use the highest setting when conditions are appropriate.

This staged approach is much more useful than simply advertising a low maximum speed. It allows the scooter to adapt to the rider’s experience level.

Dual Braking Adds a Second Layer of Control

The K4 combines an electronic brake on the handlebar with a physical rear fender foot brake.

That is a practical combination for a beginner-oriented scooter.

The handlebar brake allows the rider to use a conventional control while riding, while the rear fender brake provides another physical braking method.

However, having two braking systems doesn’t replace good riding habits.

Young riders should still learn to slow down early, leave enough space around other people, avoid sudden steering movements, and understand how the scooter behaves before increasing speed.

Protective equipment should also be considered essential rather than optional.

RGB Lighting and Bluetooth Make It More Appealing to Kids

Not every feature is about riding performance.

The K4 includes RGB lighting on the stem and deck, with effects including breathing, chasing, and multicolor patterns. It also has Bluetooth connectivity for playing music from a smartphone.

These features don’t make the scooter faster or safer, but they can make it more appealing to its intended audience.

The RGB lighting also gives the scooter a more distinctive appearance than a basic children’s model.

Bluetooth audio is a different story. While it can add entertainment value, parents should consider the riding environment before allowing music playback. Riders still need to remain aware of surrounding people, bicycles, vehicles, and changes in the riding surface.

IPX4 Water Resistance: Useful, But Don’t Treat It as Waterproof

The K4 is listed with an IPX4 rating.

That provides some protection against water splashes, but it should not be interpreted as permission to ride through heavy rain, puddles, or standing water.

Electric scooters contain electronic components and batteries that should be protected from unnecessary water exposure.

If conditions become wet, the safer approach is to stop riding and keep the scooter dry. The product listing also advises users to follow local regulations and read the instructions before riding.

These specifications are based on the current Banggood product listing.

What Kind of Rider Should Consider the K4?

The K4 is best understood as a short-distance recreational scooter for younger riders, rather than a miniature version of an adult commuter scooter.

It makes the most sense when the priorities are:

    • manageable speed
    • compact dimensions
    • adjustable handlebar height
    • lightweight construction
    • simple electronic controls
    • short recreational rides
    • multiple speed settings

The 70 kg maximum load also gives the scooter a relatively broad stated weight limit for a children’s model, although maximum capacity should never be confused with the ideal rider size or riding experience.

Where the K4 Makes the Most Sense

The ideal environment is just as important as the scooter itself.

The K4’s 6-inch tires and compact design make it better suited to smooth paved surfaces than rough terrain. Parents should choose a riding area away from traffic and other hazards and make sure the rider understands the local rules governing electric scooters.

It is also worth remembering that electric scooter regulations vary considerably by country, region, and even individual city.

A scooter that is legal for recreational use in one location may have different restrictions somewhere else.

One Important Detail Buyers Should Notice

There is an unusual detail in the current product listing that potential buyers should know before ordering.

Banggood states that the K4 is manufactured by iScooter, but the shipped product will not carry the iScooter logo.

That’s worth highlighting because customers who expect the physical scooter to arrive with prominent iScooter branding could otherwise be surprised.

Checking the exact product configuration and seller information before purchase is therefore a sensible step.

Is the iScooter K4 a Good Kids Electric Scooter?

iScooter K4 isn’t trying to win a specification battle against powerful adult electric scooters. Its appeal comes from a different philosophy.

The 150W motor, 16 km/h maximum speed, three speed modes, 6-inch tires, adjustable handlebars, dual braking system, and 6.5 kg weight create a package designed around approachable recreational riding rather than outright performance.

The adjustable handlebar is particularly useful for a growing child, while the three speed settings give parents and riders a way to progress gradually.

The RGB lighting and Bluetooth connectivity add some fun, but they aren’t the reasons to buy the scooter. The more meaningful qualities are its manageable size, relatively low weight, adjustable fit, and controlled performance.

For families looking for a compact electric scooter for a younger rider, the K4 is therefore worth considering—provided the rider’s height, weight, local regulations, and intended riding environment match the product’s specifications.

Most importantly, the 16 km/h maximum should not be treated as a target speed for beginners. Start at the lowest setting, use appropriate protective equipment, and build confidence before moving up.

That approach makes much more sense than simply buying a children’s scooter because it has the highest number on the specification sheet.
