Today, blogger @digitchat revealed that Redmi will soon launch a snapdragon 870 powered device.
Currently, Redmi K40 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 flagship processor, which is priced at 1,999 yuan for the first time, making it very competitive in the same segment.
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on what the new Redmi model with qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 will be.
Considering qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 is the flagship processor, which is slightly less positioned than snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 888 Plus, it is speculated that the new Redmi phone will be positioned in the mid to high end, possibly a new Redmi K series.
Late last year Redmi launched the K30S Ultimate, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 flagship processor. Therefore, the new qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor is likely to be the Redmi K series, we can’t rule out the Redmi K40S.
