Chuwi is launching a new 10.4-inch Android 12 tablet in August called Chuwi HiPad Max. It will premiere through AliExpress for $199. Chuwi HiPad Max is a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5, so they have very similar benchmark scores on Geekbench 5, but Chuwi’s alternative also has a few extra goodies.

The CHUWI HiPad Max tablet has a very attractive design with a metal case. Inside this tablet, we find the interesting Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (SM6225) SoC, an Octa Core manufactured in 6nm TSMC that will give us very good performance. As an operating system, we find Android 12 with DRM Widevine L1 certificates that ensure we can play Netflix or Disney + content in HD quality. In addition, we have a pretty good screen and a total amount of 8 GB of RAM, which is not bad at all. A tablet that reminds us of the recent Lenovo XiaoXin Pad 2022, is much cheaper right now.
This tablet has a 10.36 – inch IPS OGS screen with a 2000×1200 resolution with a screen area of 84%, 400 nits of power, and quite narrow frames. The front camera is 5 MP, the rear is 8 MP with AF and in the audio section, we have 4 speakers to have a powerful sound. We have a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer, in the lower area we have a magnetic keyboard connector. We also have Wifi AC connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS for location. The battery is 7000 mAh with fast charging.
The weight is 440 grams, while the thickness is 8mm. And that makes it one of the 5 lightest tablets in the 10.4-inch tablet segment. So with 8GB RAM and a low price, this could turn into a very useful small Android laptop.
