Google released the official version of Android 13 and began pushing updates to Pixel phones. As part of the new system upgrade, Android 13 will support the Bluetooth LE Audio standard.
As reported today by 9To5Google, Google employees revealed that Pixel 7 phones will support the LE Audio Bluetooth standard when they made a code change to Android on August 15. As you can see from the image, a Google employee asked if the associated XML file for the Bluetooth LE Audio codec setup was actually used or was just used as an example. Another Google employee responded with a link directly to the Pixel 7 series to add Bluetooth LE Audio Settings.
The Google employee referred to the Pixel 7 line as the “P22 / P23A,” where the “P22” refers to the Pixel phones Google will release in the fall of 2022, the Pixel 7/7Pro models. “P23a” refers to the Pixel A series of phones that Google will release in 2023, with the Pixel 7A being the most likely name.
The exact code for the Pixel 7/7Pro / 7A has been kept under lock and key, so it’s not possible to see how the three phones will support the Bluetooth LE Audio standard. However, the Pixel 7/7Pro / 7A series can provide better sound quality, lower power consumption and lower latency as long as they support the LE Audio Bluetooth standard.
iGeekphone has learned that in January 2020, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced a new generation of Bluetooth Audio technology standard at CES 2020, LE Audio, a low-power Audio, this standard will not only improve Bluetooth audio performance, but also provide more powerful support for hearing aid applications and support for audio sharing.

Mobile video of Google’s Pixel 7/7 Pro prototype surfaced on August 20. Additionally, the Google Pixel 7/7 Pro has been certified by the FCC, which shows that it supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, and NFC capabilities. Google’s Pixel 7 series, which will feature a Google-built Tensor 2 processor with a 2K flexible screen, will be available for pre-order on October 6 and go on sale on October 13.
