Today, Samsung announced the launch of the Samsung ISOCELL HPX 200 megapixel sensor, continuing Samsung’s smallest 0.56μm pixel.
Samsung ISOCELL HPX supports 4X lossless zoom, which maintains 12.5-megapixel sharpness even when magnified to four times the original image size.
According to Samsung, the DTI technology separates each pixel individually while increasing the sensitivity to capture sharp, vivid images. ISOCELL HPX has a 12 percent smaller pixel size than Samsung’s 0.64μm pixel in the previous generation, which reduces the area of the camera module by 20 percent. This means phone makers can ensure that the camera module is thinner and thinner.
Samsung ISOCELL HPX is capable of automatically switching three lighting modes depending on the lighting conditions, using 16-pixel integration technology:
In a well-lit environment, the pixel size is kept at 0.56μm, showing 200 million pixels.
In low light environment, the pixel is converted to 1.12μm, presenting 50 million pixels.
In the dark environment, 16 pixels are integrated to obtain 2.24μm 12.5 million pixel sensor.
The technology allows the ISOCELL HPX to provide a good shooting experience in low light conditions, producing sharp, sharp images even with limited light sources.
In addition, ISOCELL HPX can shoot 8K video at 30fps and supports seamless dual HDR in 4K and FHD mode.
The single-frame, line-by-line HDR, powered by intelligent ISO Pro technology, captures shadows and light in a scene at low, medium, or three different exposures, depending on the shooting environment.

Three exposure photos are combined to present high quality HDR pictures and videos. In addition, it enables the sensor to display images in more than 4 trillion colors (14 bit depth), 64 times the 68 billion colors (12 bit depth) of Samsung’s predecessor.
