Apple M2 Pro MacBook Pro and Mac Mini Will Be Launched in November

With the launch of the new iPad Pro, iPad and Apple TV this week, Apple’s attention has now turned to the Mac lineup. Apple plans to launch new high-end MacBook Pro and Mac mini models with M2-series chips in November, macrumors said.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in this week’s newsletter that macOS Ventura will be released on Monday, October 24, including support for the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Allegedly, the new MacBook Pro will be equipped with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, although he does not think the two laptops will change much in other areas.

As for the Mac mini, Gurman has previously said that Apple is working on new models based on the M2 and M2 Pro chips. For now, it looks like the new Macs will likely be released directly on Apple’s website in November in the form of a press release.

Gurman pointed out that in recent years, Apple has released new Macs in November several times, including the first-generation 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2019 and three M1-equipped Mac models in 2020.

The current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models equipped with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips will be released in October 2021 and have undergone a complete redesign, such as “bangs”, and added HDMI, MagSafe, and new features like SD card reader.

Last time, Apple launched a base Mac mini with an M1 chip in November 2020, though the company is still selling a pricier Intel version with an optional Core i5 and Core i7 processor.

As for the Mac Pro, Gurman doesn’t think the high-end tower will arrive until 2023, with new Apple chips. He has previously said that the next-generation Mac Pro will be powered by the M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chips, while the next-generation MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac are also expected to launch next year.
