Taking a gap year is becoming increasingly popular and for a good reason. It helps future students to choose a profession more consciously and, thus, stay motivated! During such a break, you can work, travel, become a volunteer, complete an internship and study foreign cultures.

In fact, a gap year doesn’t have to be exactly one year long. You are free to take as much time as you need to understand your inner desires, expand your horizons and see the world. So, what places on the planet will surely surprise you? Below, we have collected 7 tours that will transform you as a person. Believe us, spending a gap year exploring them is certainly worth it!

But before we begin, let us share some valuable advice. Once you travel the world and get enrolled at the university, you may be surprised by the study load. But luckily, you always have someone to rely on! And by that, we mean a trustworthy buy essay service: just send your homework to talented writers, and your grades will be under control. Specialists are quite experienced in what they do. Thus, they will finish any type of task on the highest level!

    1. Loire Lands, France

The Loire Valley is full of attractions and is the perfect destination to start your route of exploration of Europe. The road begins in Paris and ends in Nantes. Basically, it is a huge open-air museum.

Pays de la Loire (Lands of the Loire) offers more than sixty castles from different historical eras. Almost all of them are open to the public, which is great news for lovers of history, art, and romance. Plus, why not practice your French or even find a job at one of the wineries or cozy local shops?

    2. From Melbourne to Sydney, Australia

The journey from Melbourne (Australia’s cultural capital) through Canberra (the real capital) to downtown Sydney takes almost a week once you decide to try the hitchhiking experience. Yes, you will have to overcome 1380 kilometers, but it will be an unforgettable journey!

Ready to reveal Australia’s mysteries? Then, the path which lies along the Sapphire Coast is waiting for you. Along the way, you will encounter endless sandy beaches and rainforests. Not to mention treating yourself to fresh seafood and seeing the natural habitats of koalas and kangaroos. And most importantly, you will find out if you want to stay in Australia for longer!

    3. Romantic Road, Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most recognized symbols of Germany. And, of course, a popular route called Romantic Road passes by it. Interestingly, it was laid in the Middle Ages. The Road starts from the Main River, passes through Franconia and Swabia, Upper Bavaria, and ends at the foot of the Alps.

Along the way, you will meet fairytale cities, castles, wineries, and monasteries. The route starts in Munich and ends in Frankfurt. Such a tour is ideal for exploring Germany in detail and getting acquainted with the peculiarities of its culture.

    4. Route 1, Iceland

Want to break out of your routine and feel like the main character of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” movie? Go to Iceland, then! The Ring Road (Route 1) is perfectly paved for long journeys. Plus, signs with the number 1 (for Route 1) keep you on the right track.

The route passes through 18 cities and includes the most charming places in Iceland. You will see the valleys of geysers and explore the 60-meter Seljalandsfoss waterfall from all sides. Another alluring waterfall is called Skogafoss. No doubt, the beauty of pristine nature will take your breath away!

    5. From Bergen to Trondheim, Norway

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a Viking among the Norwegian fjords? Then, the trip from Bergen to Trondheim is what you really need! From glaciers and fabulous fjords to mountain lakes and waterfalls, including the 110-meter Tvindefossen – that’s what Norway has to offer!

In fact, adventure awaits you even in the tunnels. For example, the world’s longest one, called Lærdal, will amaze you with its caves. Each of them is illuminated with a blue glow and yellow rays.

Of course, we can’t help but mention the marvelous Troll Stairs (Nor. Trollstigen) in the northern part of western Norway. It is usually open from the second half of May to October. Moreover, if you want to travel “savages,” it is very simple in Norway. You can spend the night in a tent wherever you want. Unless there is no warning about private property, of course.

    6. From Edinburgh Through All The Magic Of Scotland

Scotland offers views that are more like fantasy than reality. Can’t believe it? Drive from Edinburgh to the Highlands on one of the most scenic roads in the world!

Get your camera ready on your way to Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest lake. The number of dreamy places in local forests is simply overwhelming! Also, take some time to explore Oban city and ensure it is called the Scottish capital of seafood, not in vain. Also, don’t forget to go to the fabulous Glencoe Valley, where some episodes of Harry Potter were filmed.

After hunting down the Loch Ness Monster, head to Aviemore to try whitewater rafting and walk the hills with tame deer. On your way to the east coast, turn off at the gothic Balmoral Palace, and then drive straight to Stonehaven. There, Dunnottar Castle rises above the sea, and its medieval secrets are waiting for you to discover them!

    7. Northern Lakes, Italy

We are finishing our list with Italy because many believe it is heaven on earth. Age-old traditions and stunning architecture, fashion and art, melodic language, delicious cuisine, and sincere people – that’s what you will find here!

Start exploring Italy from the northern lakes – Garda, Como, and Maggiore. Begin the trip from Venice to visit Padua and Verona along the way. Then, relax in the heavenly towns of Sirmione and Gardone Riviera on the coast of Garda. And surely, head to Lake Como with a stop in picturesque Bergamo.

You will truly feel the taste of life among the amazing mountain landscapes, fishing villages, and luxurious villas of Como. Italy will likely win your heart, and you will stay here for more than just a gap year!

    To Wrap It Up

Taking a gap year has many benefits. They are the chance to greatly broaden your horizons and try your hand at various activities. This is also the time to decide what you adore and what you would like to do in the future. During this period, you will meet new people, and watching how they live, you will choose what’s best for you.

For many, the gap year is a time to take a break, analyze their lives and answer the main questions: who am I, and what do I want to do?

    Good luck figuring this out!
