Android 13 QPR1 Update has been Released

Google today rolled out the first Quarterly Platform Releases update for Android 13 for the Pixel line of phones, which brings more than 70 fixes to the Pixel 7. Today’s release of Android 13 QPR 1 coincides with the December Feature Drop, so Pixel users can upgrade to experience the changes brought by the new version.

Android 13 QPR1 update also includes some user-oriented tweaks. The first is to allow users to delete the media player from the lock screen. You can turn off Display Media on Lock Screen from the Settings app > Sound and Vibration > Media.

In the Quick Settings, Google introduced click-animation for each module and upgraded some ICONS. ICONS including Bluetooth, Autorotate, Flashlight, Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb, Hot spot, Dark theme and Night Light all received touch animation.

After being taken down in August, the Unified Pixel Launcher is back in the new version. Users can search for apps, app shortcuts, contacts, Play store results, and screen shots.

In Settings, Android 13 QPR1 renames “Increase touch sensitivity” on the Screen to “Screen protector mode,” Minor visual changes have also been made to the Screen Saver preferences and Hold Down the Power Button menu.

44 security issues were fixed in the December 13 patch for Android, dated 2022-12-01, and 36 security issues were fixed in the 2022-12-05 update.
