DJI today unveiled a new Mini 2 SE drone that offers a number of upgrades over the company’s existing entry-level drones.
DJI Mini 2 SE weighs less than 249g and fits easily in the palm of your hand, with its low weight, small size and folding legs making it very portable.
Its camera uses a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 2.7K video or 12 megapixel photos, and is mounted on a three-axis gimbal for stable video and photo shooting. Dji has equipped the Mini 2 SE with QuickShots and Panorama mode to make it easy to shoot more creative videos and photos, as well as support for 4x digital zoom when shooting HD video.
Most notably, DJI has equipped the Mini 2 SE with Ocusync2.0 graphics technology, which means the new drone can fly twice as far as the original Mini SE and can transmit high-definition video at a range of 10 kilometers. However, IGeekphone understands that most jurisdictions require drones to be flown within sight, and a drone as small as the Mini 2 SE is likely to be out of sight before you have a chance to fly it more than 10km away.
According to DJI, the Mini 2 SE has level 5 wind resistance and is able to hover stably in winds of 10.7 m/s. But unlike the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 2 SE doesn’t have an object avoidance sensor.
In addition, the Mini 2 SE can fly for 31 minutes on a single charge, DJI said, a modest upgrade from the previous model’s maximum flight time of 30 minutes.

DJI Mini 2 SE will be available on March 22 for $369. In addition to selling the drone separately, DJI will also offer the Mini 2 SE “Fly More Combo” kit, which, in addition to the drone, includes three batteries, a charger, a handbag and spare parts for $519.
