Google released the first Developer Preview of Android 14 in early February, and today it is releasing a second beta version (DP2), UPP2.230217.004.

Google has introduced a platform API in Android 14, Credential Manager, which allows applications to log in with a password. In DP2, Google has made improvements to the UI style of the account selector and tweaked the API based on developer feedback on DP1.
In addition, apps for Android 14 require users to grant permissions to be active in the background.
According to Google, DP2 optimizes Android’s memory management system to improve resource utilization when apps are running in the background. In addition, Android 14 will have fewer non-shut-off notifications, and the App Store API will be improved.
