Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro vs Mi 13 Ultra Review: Which One Should You Get?

Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

In reality, when comparing the prices of the Xiaomi Mi 13 Ultra and Mi 13 Pro, it is evident that there is a difference of approximately 200 yuan for the same storage version. Surprisingly, even during the 618 sales event, the Mi 13 Ultra remains a strong contender, while the Mi 13 Pro sees a price drop of about 400 yuan. Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the Mi 13 Pro actually offers better value for money.

The main advantage of the Mi 13 Ultra lies in its exceptional camera quality. However, it is important to note that the image performance of the Mi 13 Pro itself is not subpar, featuring a one-inch super outsole main camera. In terms of performance, the imaging capabilities of the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro are more than sufficient.

Let’s delve deeper into the specific features of these two devices.

    Screen

The Mi 13 Pro boasts a 2K curved screen made with Samsung E6 material, supporting 10-bit color, LTPO technology, and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. This combination of features is relatively common among high-end flagship smartphones. On the other hand, the Mi 13 Ultra takes things a step further with its support for 12-bit color and a peak brightness of 2600nit. While domestic screens have made significant progress in recent years, there still exist some disparities in terms of display quality and power consumption when compared to Samsung screens.

    Cameras

Both the Mi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro sport a 32-megapixel front selfie lens, along with a rear Sony IMX989 sensor featuring a one-inch super outsole main camera. Additionally, the rear main camera of the Mi 13 Ultra supports a variable aperture, enabling better control over the blur effect and the amount of incoming light. This adjustment allows for greater playability and the ability to modify the film’s color tone.

Moreover, while both models feature a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, the Mi 13 Ultra sets itself apart with an additional 50-megapixel ultra-telephoto lens. This added lens enhances the device’s ability to capture finer details. Furthermore, the tuning of the Mi 13 Ultra’s co-branded Leica images is more refined, offering a stronger Leica flavor. The lens module’s overall appearance and design have also been greatly improved.

    Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro comes equipped with a 4820mAh built-in battery, supporting 120W flash charging and 50W wireless charging. In comparison, the Mi 13 Ultra houses a slightly larger 5000mAh battery but only supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It’s evident that due to the larger-sized lens and battery, the Mi 13 Ultra had to make a trade-off in terms of charging speed.

    Conclusion

Both the Mi 13 Pro and Mi 13 Ultra present compelling choices, with the Mi 13 Pro offering better value for those seeking cost-effectiveness. The Mi 13 Ultra’s standout feature is its extreme imaging capabilities, making it the ideal choice for users passionate about photography. Furthermore, users need not worry about the weight of this model any longer, as the benefits it offers outweigh this concern.
