Developer Steve Moser dug deep into Apple’s iOS 17.4 Beta 1 update today, discovering eight brand new apps for the next generation of CarPlay in the code.
According to foreign media reports, integrated Aaron Perris (Aaron Perris) and Steve Moser (Steve Moser) of the two developers of the Revelations, the summary of CarPlay new applications as follows:
Auto Settings:
The App lets users manage their paired iphones and adjust vehicle Settings.
Car Camera:
This application will display the rear-view camera footage of the vehicle.
Charge:
Mainly for electric vehicles, showing the remaining battery power, charging status, estimated battery charging time and other information.
Climate:
The app controls the vehicle’s air conditioning system, allowing you to adjust the temperature, wind strength, heat the seat, heat the steering wheel, and more.
Closures:
This application will show if any doors of the vehicle have been opened and may also show vehicle warning signs.
Media:
The app will offer FM and AM radio station controls in CarPlay, as well as other media options such as SiriusXM. It’s unclear whether SiriusXM will offer satellite connectivity or be limited to Internet streaming. Users can choose from a list of music genres, such as Top 40 and Rock.
Tire Pressure:
The app will display the air pressure of each tire in the vehicle and provide low pressure, high pressure and blown tire warnings.
Trips:
The app will provide a variety of driving-related data, including the vehicle’s average speed, fuel or energy efficiency, total time spent, and distance traveled.
Added “Goodbye” screen
An image revealed in the iOS 17.4 beta shows that the next generation of CarPlay may display a “goodbye” screen after the driver turns off the vehicle:
