Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 / FE Reported to be Mass-Produced in May

South Korean outlet Daily highlighted in an April 10 blog post that Samsung is preparing to launch large-scale manufacturing of three foldable smartphones—the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (Fan Edition)—starting in May. Production will occur across facilities in Gumi, South Korea, and Vietnam.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to debut in four color variants, with an initial production target of approximately 160,000 units during the early second quarter. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is slated for an initial output of around 240,000 units in the same period. Notably, Samsung is introducing the budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip7 FE to attract a broader audience to its foldable lineup, aiming for an early production run of 170,000 units. The new FE model, along with the Flip7, will feature a “Coral Red” color option, mirroring the hue seen in this year’s flagship Galaxy S25 series to strengthen visual appeal.

According to sources, both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE will incorporate Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chipset, built on a 3nm process node by Samsung Foundry to optimize power efficiency and performance. The Exynos 2500 was initially slated for the Galaxy S25 series but encountered delays due to technical challenges. Samsung’s MX Division is reportedly conducting final evaluations to address thermal management and processing capabilities before deployment.

This strategic move underscores Samsung’s commitment to dominating the foldable market by diversifying its offerings and refining cutting-edge chip technology.
