Today, China Mobile Terminal Company announced that its self-developed Beidou communication and navigation fusion chip (ZW8000s) was first installed on the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Messaging Edition.

China Mobile stated that this is the successful application of China’s independently developed Beidou-3 integrated communication and navigation technology in mass consumer-grade mobile phone terminals, marking an important breakthrough for terminal companies in the field of satellite communication and navigation integrated terminal technology research and development.
As the first commercial mobile phone to integrate the ZW8000s chip, the Note 15 Pro+ incorporates the dual core capabilities of the Beidou system, namely “navigation + communication”, into consumer electronic devices.
China Mobile said that previously, the Beidou navigation and communication integration technology was mostly applied in various industry fields. The terminal company formed a special R&D team composed of key personnel, effectively solving industry problems such as high power consumption and signal interference.

Ultimately, the “Beidou Short message communication + Beidou Navigation and Positioning” two-in-one function is achieved, ensuring the high performance of the chip while significantly reducing costs and meeting the mass production demands of mass consumer terminals.
Meanwhile, the short message function can ensure communication reliability in emergency scenarios such as field rescue and when there is no ground network coverage.
It is understood that the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ is equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K Super Sunlight screen, is the world’s first to launch the fourth-generation Snapdragon 7s, has a 7000mAh large battery, supports 90W wired fast charging, and adopts Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass + super tough fiberglass back panel to enhance protection capabilities.
