According to Yahoo News, Japan Tobacco (JT) announced that starting from April 6th, it will gradually launch the new product “EVO Sakura Regular” of the high-end brand EVO specifically for the heated non-combustible tobacco brand Ploom in various channels including convenience stores and tobacco sales outlets across Japan.
JT stated that EVO is a high-end heating tobacco cartridge brand exclusively for Ploom. Since its launch in July 2025, this brand has performed well in sales; based on the share of cartridge sales in the heated non-combustible tobacco market, it has risen to the second position cumulatively in the second half of 2025. Meanwhile, the device “Ploom AURA” has also become the fastest-selling product in JT’s history, reaching 4 million units or more.

JT stated that EVO already has popular flavors such as “Deep Regular”, “Black Menthol”, and “Honey Lemon Crystal”, and this new product was born based on the results of Ploom’s first “New Product Voting Campaign” in its history. From January 22nd to February 28th, users participated in the popularity voting, and finally 4 products were selected as candidates. Among the cumulative over 10,000 votes, “EVO Sakura Regular” ranked third.
JT introduced, “The feature of ‘EVO Sakura Regular’ is its smooth taste and rich aroma blend. It first presents a luxurious fragrance, then adds a faint floral scent, creating a gentle and harmonious flavor.”
“EVO Sakura Regular” has been available for sale since February 3rd on the CLUB JT online store and nationwide Ploom Shop. Starting from April 6th, it will also be available in nationwide convenience stores, tobacco sales outlets, and Ploom STANDs. JT stated that due to the adjustment in the taxation method for heated non-combustible tobacco, the pricing has been revised. Since April 1st, the product is uniformly priced at 580 yen (approximately 3.71 US dollars).
In addition, the “Ploom AURA” limited edition color “Fuchsia Flare” that matches the “EVO Sakura Regular” color tone is also currently on pre-sale and will be gradually launched nationwide starting from March 17th.
