iGEEKPHONE News reported on April 16th that according to sources, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will not only be the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8E6 series flagship platform, but its screen quality will also undergo an unprecedented enhancement.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro will be equipped with a brand-new small-sized straight screen and will adopt the advanced LIPO ultra-narrow physical quadrilateral process. This means that the screen border will be further narrowed, and it may even challenge the physical limits of the current mobile phone industry, providing users with a purer full-screen visual experience.

This screen will be the first to feature a new generation of domestic base materials, successfully achieving an extremely dark display effect as low as 1 nits. At the same time, it has introduced the Pol-less anti-reflective film technology and for the first time supports BT.2020 color gamut display on Xiaomi phones, marking a significant breakthrough in display technology.
As a core technical indicator, the BT.2020 color gamut standard was established by the International Telecommunication Union and is currently the standard specification for 4K and 8K ultra-high-definition video production. Compared with the traditional sRGB or DCI-P3 standards, its color coverage has increased by approximately 75%, enabling the presentation of colors that are closer to reality.
In addition, BT.2020 also supports high color depth technologies of 10 bits or even 12 bits, which can effectively eliminate the discontinuity in color transitions. Its color gamut covers 75% of the visible color range of the human eye. This top-level display specification will enable the picture quality and texture of mobile phones to closely approach those of professional-grade monitors.

Apart from the leap in screen technology, the release schedule for this series of products has also been largely determined. Assuming there are no surprises, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to make its official debut in September this year, and the standard version of Xiaomi 18 will also be unveiled simultaneously at that time.
It is worth noting that this event might also introduce a more high-end model, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, which is definitely worth looking forward to.
