Igeekphone reported on May 28th that tonight, Beijing time, the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro smartphones were officially launched. These two new models are positioned as the low-cost versions of the 17 series flagship devices. Following the usual approach of the T series, the 17T and 17T Pro place more emphasis on performance rather than imaging functions, and are equipped with the largest battery capacity for Xiaomi’s international version smartphones to date.
The 17T is equipped with a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery. The 17T Pro has an increased battery capacity to 7000mAh. Both models are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity chipset and come with 12GB of memory. Among them, the 17T is equipped with the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, while the 17T Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 9500. The Pro version has a larger body, with a screen size of 6.83 inches, while the 17T has a 6.59-inch screen. The Pro version also features a 144Hz refresh rate, wireless charging, and a faster 100W wired charging.
The 17T and 17T Pro will be launched in Europe. The starting price of the 17T is 749 euros (Note: at the current exchange rate, it is approximately 5,918 yuan); the starting price of the 17T Pro is 899 euros (at the current exchange rate, it is approximately 7,103 yuan).
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with a 6.83-inch large screen. The screen uses a 12-bit OLED panel with a resolution of 1280p+ and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. Compared to the 17T, the Pro version has two upgrades to the screen: the refresh rate has been increased from 120Hz to 144Hz, and in the ultra-dark mode, the minimum brightness can be as low as 1 nit. Both of the two phones’ screens are covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
In terms of image configuration, the telephoto, ultra-wide-angle and front cameras of 17T and 17T Pro are the same. The main difference lies in the main camera. The Pro version uses 1/1.31-inch OmniVision Light Fusion 950 with a single pixel size of 1.2μm; the standard version 17T uses 1/1.55-inch Light Fusion 800 with a single pixel size of 1.0μm.
The main cameras of both phones are 50 million pixels. They are equipped with Leica Summilux lenses (1G + 6P) and optical stabilization. The new model also incorporates a new 4K 60fps video mode and supports HDR10+ and Log options.
In terms of other configurations, both of these phones are equipped with stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos sound and have been certified by Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless. However, they both have removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. Both phones support dual SIM cards. In some regions, an eSIM option is also available, and both support Xiaomi offline communication.
In terms of connection specifications, the 17T Pro supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 with Dual-Bluetooth; the 17T supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0, but does not support dual Bluetooth connections. Both of these phones support NFC.
In terms of color schemes, the 17T Pro offers black, dark blue and deep purple; while the 17T provides black, blue, purple and opal white.
In addition, Xiaomi offers new devices a 3-month trial of Google AI Pro with 5TB of cloud storage, a 3-month trial of YouTube Premium including YouTube Music, and a 4-month trial of Spotify Premium.
