Igeekphone reported on June 8th that whistleblower Sonny Dickson has released a set of high-resolution detailed images of the foldable iPhone (or named iPhone Fold). The design of this device seems to have been largely finalized. Additionally, the news disclosed that this foldable model might only be available in a white version.
The prototype models are mainly used for offline display and also serve as references for accessory manufacturers. The accessory manufacturers need to closely replicate the dimensions of the device in order to mass-produce phone cases and other peripheral accessories before the official release of the new model. In April this year, Dixon simultaneously exposed the early engineering models of the foldable screen iPhone, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max, providing the first direct confirmation that this foldable phone adopts the passport-style flap design.

The exposed folding-screen iPhone prototype this time is far more detailed than the previous versions that were circulating. It can more clearly display the overall design and screen shape of the device.
These exterior details also align with the various design rumors currently circulating. This device adopts a book-like shape, with a screen ratio of 4:3. The width of the device is greater than its height, and it is different from the forms of all current folding mobile phones on the market. The external screen size is 5.5 inches, and the internal display is a 7.8-inch OLED screen. When unfolded, the overall size of the device is slightly smaller than that of an iPad mini.

According to rumors, this device features a 4.5-millimeter ultra-thin titanium metal frame, with the volume buttons moved to the top of the device and the custom function buttons removed; the unlocking method has been changed to Touch ID, and Face ID is no longer equipped; the back adopts a horizontal dual-camera module, and the camera area retains the raised design style of iPhone Air.
The prototype also revealed several new design details: The outer screen is in a full-screen form, with a slight curvature at the edges; the flash is located below the rear microphone within the camera area; the rear microphone has a new design, with a hole in a seven-hole pattern; the front camera of the inner screen is placed in the upper left corner of the screen, and this layout is bound to have an impact on the shape of dynamic island.

Regarding the color scheme, Dickson stated that this device seems to have only a white version. The blogger @DigitalDrama Station previously also mentioned that this model is unlikely to have a black version, and white is likely to be the only color option. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman previously also noted that Apple intends to abandon bright colors and revert to the traditional color scheme.
It is worth noting that many of Apple’s high-end new products were initially released with only a single color option, such as Apple Watch Ultra and Vision Pro. This strategy is also in line with Apple’s usual pattern for launching major new products. In November 2017, the first release of iPhone X offered only silver and deep space gray colors, setting a record with an initial price of $999; the following year, iPhone XS added a gold version. Some speculate that Apple may update this folding flagship in the future by gradually increasing the color options.

As expected, the foldable iPhone will be officially released in September 2026, along with iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. According to Gurman, the starting price of this new foldable device will exceed $2000 (Igeekphone Note: The current exchange rate is approximately 13,583 yuan).
