Igeekphone News, June 16th: Samsung will officially release the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra folding screens in July this year. Among them, the Galaxy Z Fold8 adopts a completely new wide folding form, and it is the first wide folding product to be mass-produced and launched in the entire Android ecosystem.
According to media reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 has obtained the network certification from Singapore’s IMA. The corresponding model is SM-F971B. The relevant certification information indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold8 supports UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology, enabling more precise near-field interconnection and interaction functions.

Based on the parameter information disclosed by the supply chain, the internal screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 measures 7.6 inches, while the external screen is 5.4 inches. When fully unfolded, the thickness of the single side is only 4.5 millimeters. The overall grip feel of the device is lightweight, and there won’t be a significant sense of weight when operating it with one hand for a long time.

At the core hardware level, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is equipped with the fifth-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition flagship platform. It features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Combined with a new hinge structure, it achieves a visual effect with almost no creases, and the user experience has ranked among the top in the industry. It is at the same level as the OPPO Find N6.
It is worth noting that the wide folding design is the new direction for the entire foldable screen market. Apart from Huawei and Samsung, all major mobile phone brands including Apple will also launch their own wide folding models. The wide folding design is likely to replace the existing regular large folding screens and become the mainstream choice for the next generation of foldable screen products.
