It’s only three months until the international tobacco and nicotine industry gathers again in Dortmund. The world’s leading tobacco trade fair, InterTabac, will be jointly organized with NUBIZ and InterSupply.
Approximately 800 exhibitors from all over the world will showcase their products in 11 exhibition halls. Industry participants will use the platforms provided by the three major fairs to present innovative achievements, showcase market trends, and strengthen professional networks. High-profile conference programs will also offer further guidance to visitors. Keynotes, panel discussions, and masterclasses will help professional attendees not only observe market changes but also understand and interpret these changes, enabling them to make more informed decisions for their businesses. The highlights of the first batch of conference programs have now been announced online.
The projects of this conference will focus on the core issues that are currently shaping the industry landscape, covering areas such as international regulation, sustainable development, harm reduction, and innovative product categories. The initial agenda has already demonstrated a high degree of depth and practical reference value. The conference projects on the official website will continue to be expanded and updated.

In terms of the planning and execution of the conference project, Messe Dortmund has received support from key industry partners, who will contribute professional experience and specialized knowledge. One of the leading experts confirmed to attend the Dortmund exhibition is Pablo Cano Trilla, the director of legal research and analysis at Tamarind Intelligence. He will deliver a keynote speech on the opening day of the exhibition (September 15th), analyzing the regulatory framework faced by traditional tobacco products and novel nicotine products. This will provide professional attendees with the opportunity to directly discuss the current regulatory dynamics with the experts and better assess the impact of these changes on their own business activities.
Also on September 15th, Paul Varakas, the director-general of the European Cigar Manufacturers Association (ECMA), and Joshua Habursky, the chief executive of the Premium Cigar Association (PCA), will attend a special meeting to focus on discussing the increasingly intense regulatory pressure faced by the cigar industries in the European Union and the United States.
Those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the American cigar market are encouraged to attend the speech given by Dan Cotter, the Vice President of Finance and Operations of the Cigar Association of America (CAA) and the Pipe Tobacco Council, on the second day of the exhibition (September 16th). He will share based on data, providing valuable decision-making references for manufacturers, importers and retailers, helping them identify the developments in the American market in a timely manner and adjust their business plans accordingly.
On the same day, Raphael Moreau, a senior research consultant at Euromonitor, will analyze the key trends shaping the nicotine and tobacco industry by considering changes in consumer habits, product innovation, and the evolving regulatory framework.
On Wednesday, the Global Institute for Novel Nicotine (GINN) will present two high-profile specialized sessions focusing on business-related issues, concentrating on the market access challenges that are expected to shape the industry landscape in the next decade. The roundtable discussion titled “We’re Right but We’re Losing – How the Nicotine Sector Wastes Its Own Advantage” will address a problem that many consider to be the industry’s greatest strategic blind spot. Despite strong scientific evidence supporting harm reduction, companies continue to invest significant resources in brand competition, while underfunding evidence generation, market surveillance, legal enforcement, and regulatory infrastructure; these factors ultimately determine long-term business success and market sustainability. The subsequent in-depth specialized session titled “Making Evidence Travel: A Three-Region Blueprint for Market Access” will propose a practical solution approach: establishing a robust cross-regional evidence strategy to meet the requirements of the US FDA, respond to regulatory discussions within the EU, and adapt to the emerging regulatory framework in the post-ban era in Latin America.
Audience will gain international professional insights on-site
Visitors to InterTabac, NUBIZ and InterSupply will not only have a comprehensive understanding of new products and market trends, but also have access to decision-makers, market data and regulatory insights. These pieces of information are expected to shape the industry’s development in the coming years. The combination of trade shows, conference projects and international exchange networks makes Dortmund an important gathering point for industry professionals, especially for those who wish to formulate business strategies based on reliable information and solid professional connections.
