Igeekphone News, June 25th: The MWC Shanghai event officially kicked off on June 24th. Many mobile phone brands showcased their products at the exhibition. A blogger noticed that Nubia displayed a distinctive large-screen phone – Nubia Neo 5 Max – at the MWC venue.
This device is equipped with a 7.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1.5K, providing a visual experience similar to that of a small tablet. In terms of core configuration, the Nubia Neo 5 Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip, features a 7000mAh large-capacity battery, and comes pre-installed with Android 16 system. The overall configuration focuses on audio-visual and battery life experiences.

In terms of industrial design, the rear camera of the Nubia Neo 5 Max is arranged vertically. Each camera is designed in an octagonal shape, with extremely high recognizability. The back panel incorporates elements related to the World Cup theme, giving the overall style a very distinct and sporty feel, full of competitive colors.

It is reported that the Nubia Neo 5 Max is targeting the overseas market and will not be available for sale in China. This device was previously showcased at the MWC in Barcelona. Its extremely large size makes it larger than most flagship models. Although it can be held with one hand, due to the width of the screen, it is quite difficult to perform various interactions with one hand in practice.
Currently, the screen sizes of mainstream mobile phones are mostly under 7 inches. However, there are reports indicating that three brands have started to develop 7-inch large-screen models, covering both mid-range and flagship product lines. As the number of 7-inch large-screen mobile phones gradually increases, this trend bears a resemblance to the market situation of Xiaomi Max series in the past.

As for whether this “large-screen renaissance” can truly capture the mainstream market, the key still lies in whether the final pricing and actual experience are sufficient to convince consumers to pay for it.
