Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 series is expected to bring larger battery capacities, with new reports suggesting the standard model could feature a 4,800mAh battery while a potential Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra variant may upgrade to a 5,000mAh power cell.
According to a report published by technology media outlet YtechB on July 18, recently disclosed data from the European Union’s EPREL (European Product Registry for Energy Labelling) database reveals estimated battery endurance figures for Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphones.
The EPREL listing reportedly indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 can deliver approximately 49 hours and 10 minutes of battery life on a full charge, while the higher-end Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra model could achieve around 51 hours of usage.
Based on these endurance figures, YtechB speculates that Samsung may equip the Galaxy Z Fold8 with a 4,800mAh battery, representing an increase over previous generations. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to feature a larger 5,000mAh battery, offering improved endurance for users who demand longer screen time from a large foldable device.
Industry leaker Ice Universe (@iIceUniverse) also shared a summary of Samsung’s foldable phone battery capacities, covering models from the Galaxy Z Fold4 series through the rumored Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The information highlights Samsung’s gradual efforts to improve battery capacity across its premium foldable lineup.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series has traditionally focused on combining smartphone portability with tablet-style productivity. However, battery capacity has remained one of the key challenges for foldable devices due to their slim designs and large internal displays. A move toward larger batteries could help address user concerns about endurance, especially as newer models are expected to feature brighter displays, more powerful processors, and enhanced AI capabilities.
The rumored Galaxy Z Fold8 lineup is expected to continue Samsung’s strategy of refining its foldable portfolio with improved durability, thinner designs, and upgraded performance. Details regarding the processor, display technology, camera system, pricing, and official launch timeline have not yet been confirmed.
Samsung is expected to reveal more information about its next-generation foldable smartphones closer to the official release event. Until then, the reported battery specifications should be considered unofficial and subject to change.
