Igeekphone News: Google’s next-generation Pixel 11a smartphone has reportedly been revealed through leaked specifications, suggesting the affordable Pixel model will feature Google’s upcoming Tensor G6 chipset, a MediaTek M90 modem, and a brighter high-refresh-rate display.
According to technology media outlet NotebookCheck, the Pixel 11a has appeared in internal documentation with the codename “Formosan”, offering an early look at the expected hardware configuration of Google’s future A-series smartphone.
While Google has not officially confirmed the device, the leaked specifications suggest that the Pixel 11a will continue the company’s strategy of bringing flagship-level AI capabilities and custom silicon to a more affordable smartphone segment.
Tensor G6 Chip and MediaTek M90 Modem
The Pixel 11a is reportedly powered by Google’s next-generation Tensor G6 processor, internally referred to as “Malibu.” The chipset will reportedly be paired with Google’s updated Titan M3 security chip, continuing the Pixel lineup’s focus on hardware-level security and AI processing.
For graphics performance, the device is said to use a PowerVR C-series GPU (CXTP-48-1536), while connectivity duties will reportedly be handled by a MediaTek M90 modem.

The reported switch to a MediaTek modem would represent an important change for Google’s Pixel lineup, as previous Tensor-powered devices have relied on Samsung-based modem solutions. The move could potentially improve connectivity efficiency and network performance.
6.3-inch High-Brightness Display
According to the leaked specifications, the Pixel 11a will feature a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 1080 × 2424 pixels.
The screen is expected to support a variable refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz, offering smoother animations while maintaining power efficiency.
One of the biggest upgrades could come in brightness performance. The display is reportedly capable of reaching:
- Up to 2,250 nits in HDR mode
- Up to 3,350 nits peak brightness
If accurate, the Pixel 11a would offer one of the brightest displays in its price segment, improving outdoor visibility and HDR content playback.
8GB RAM and Slightly Smaller Battery
In terms of memory and power, the Pixel 11a is expected to include 8GB of RAM and a 4,870mAh battery.
Interestingly, the reported battery capacity is slightly lower than the previous-generation Pixel 10a, which was rumored to feature a 5,100mAh battery. However, improvements in processor efficiency and software optimization could help maintain strong endurance.
Four Color Options Reportedly Planned
The leaked information also lists four possible color variants for the Pixel 11a:
- Obsidian (black)
- Olive (green)
- Frost (purple)
- Fog (silver)
These colors would continue Google’s approach of offering distinctive but understated finishes for its Pixel A-series smartphones.
New Front Camera Sensor
For photography, the Pixel 11a is reportedly equipped with a new front-facing camera sensor internally codenamed “dokkaebi.”
However, detailed information about the rear camera system, including sensor specifications, optical features, and AI photography upgrades, has not yet been revealed.
A More Powerful Affordable Pixel Experience
The Pixel 11a appears set to continue Google’s A-series philosophy: delivering advanced computational photography, AI features, and custom Tensor-powered performance at a lower price point than the flagship Pixel lineup.
With the rumored Tensor G6 processor, upgraded security hardware, brighter display, and a new modem solution, the Pixel 11a could become one of the most competitive affordable Android smartphones when it eventually launches.
Google has not yet officially announced the Pixel 11a, and details including pricing, availability, and final specifications remain unconfirmed. More information is expected to emerge as the device moves closer to release.
